NoSo is on the road touring North America with his latest album When Are You Leaving?, bringing with him alluring guitar melodies and more heartbreakingly tender stories to share. Known for their soft, groovy sound that invites you to move your feet, whether in the comfort of your room or out in a crowd, NoSo crafts music that’s as intimate as it is rhythmic. Through his distinctive voice, soulful guitar work, and vulnerable storytelling about love, loss, and the transgender experience, he’s connecting deeply with audiences in every city he stops at.

The Underground in Toronto on October 28, 2025 was NoSo’s first time ever in Canada, and though his first impression was the autumn chill, the venue that night was warmed up by his presence and fans' love.

JayWood and his band opened the night by introducing himself coming all the way from Winnipeg, Manitoba, immediately setting a warm and personal tone. Switching between holding a mic or guitar, he filled the venue with soulful melodies, performing standout tracks like “PALMA WISE” and “PISTACHIOS” from his September album release, Leo Negro. Jay encouraged the venue to clap and move with “Just Sayin’,” a groove-infused number guaranteed to have any music lover vibing one way or another. Midway through the set, Jay switched places with his keyboardist for a slowed-down song, shifting the mood to something more reflective and showcasing yet another layer of his artistry.

Soon after, NoSo’s drummer, keyboardist and bassist joined NoSo on stage, prompting a wave of excitement as more fans pressed towards the front. The night began with a string of tracks off their new album, including “A Believable Boy,” “You’re No Man,” and “Nara,” each one met with love and knowing smiles from the audience. NoSo took a moment to express his gratitude, thanking everyone for coming out and noting with clear excitement that it was his first time in Canada, which drew more loud cheers from the venue. NoSo continued with “Honey Understand,” one of many beloved songs from that night off his first album Stay Proud of Me

After “Feeling Like a Woman Lately,“ NoSo proclaims, “Gosh, I love Toronto, you guys are so polite,” receiving cheers and whoo’s from the crowd. A fan yelled, “I love you!” which NoSo replied, “Love you too,” and quickly added, “love Degrassi more.”

NoSo continued with more songs from Stay Proud of Me and When Are You Leaving? before taking a moment to share how proud they are of their latest album, a project that pushed him to navigate new sounds and experiment with instruments. This served as a perfect segue into “Let it Die,” a track that, on the surface, may sound like a heartbreak song. But, beneath it lies the gentle rise of a violin intertwining beautifully with NoSo’s euphonious lyrics and voice to bridge sorrow and love.

As the set neared its end, NoSo’s band stepped off stage, leaving him alone under the lights with his guitar. Smiling, he asked the crowd what they’d like to hear for the final song. When someone shouted “David,” he seemed flustered for a moment, claiming it might not be the same without his band. Still, he went on to deliver one last heartfelt performance, an intimate, soul-stirring song that felt like a personal goodbye to Toronto, wrapping up the night on a beautifully vulnerable note.
