Latin GRAMMY Award-winning and Puerto Rican Latin music artist Rauw Alejandro has surprisingly unveiled a stripped-down version of his latest hit single, “Carita Linda.” Dropping just weeks after its original release, this new version of the song offers a raw, unfiltered dive into the track.
Accompanying the unplugged release of “Carita Linda” is a captivating video of the acoustic performance, proudly recorded in the heart of San Juan, Puerto Rico at the symbolic cocktail bar, La Factoría.
In the original version of the song, Rauw Alejandro draws heavy inspiration from Puerto Rican Bomba—a traditional Afro-Boricua music and dance—and seamlessly blends neo-bomba with alluring urban beats, effortlessly hooking listeners into the song. On the other hand, this acoustic live debut of “Carita Linda” really enhances and brings focus to the neo-bomba rhythms and its cultural significance.

In the video, viewers are greeted with Alejandro’s smooth, steady vocals, delivered with a strong confidence that perfectly compliments the stripped-down essence of the track’s musical arrangement and cultural richness. The performance is elevated by the powerful rhythmic beating of the drums by the Bomvibes band, adding a new type of grit to his neo-bomba single.
The performance concludes with the entrance of traditional bomba dancers, whose vibrant presence ties the entire piece together—bringing the music, movement, and cultural roots into a powerful, unified expression that leaves viewers mesmerized.
