As the audience trickled in, they were met with low lights that set the mood of the night. Dhyan kicked off the show with his soulful, yet high-energy performances. His delivery of rendezvous was beautifully complemented by the crowd singing along, resonating with his message on love. The Maryland native hyped up the crowd with his audience interactions, heightening the venue’s energy.

Carrying on the show was the Indonesian artist Mark Natama, whose music blends R&B with contemporary elements. His stage started with cover songs before transitioning to his only English song, would u be mine? that was accompanied by fans who sang loudly from the crowd. Throughout the set, Mark made sure to shout out Indonesian and Asian pride from all over. The band that performed with him comprised members from Taiwan, Shanghai, and Singapore. As he let the night settle in, Mark's performances captured the hearts of the audience, with some audience members even staying behind after the show to take pictures with him, giving him high praise.

Finally, the headliner of the show, Jereena Montemayor, took the stage. Born in the Philippines and now hailing from Southern California, the R&B pop artist sang songs including talk to me nice and Traffic.” Delivering a powerful and fun performance, the audience breathed in rhythm and soul as they swayed and sang along with her. The audience, fully immersed in the night, continued to sing along, creating karaoke-like moments when Jereena performed some of her cover songs. The night’s atmosphere was eccentric.

Sonic Bloom put on a fantastic night of R&B that celebrated talents from the Asian Diaspora. The musicality and passion from Dhyan, Mark Natama, and Jereena Montemayor left a lasting impression of a beautiful and memorable show in NYC.
