On April 24, 2026, LE SSERAFIM, consisting of SAKURA, KIM CHAEWON, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE, dropped their lead single “CELEBRATION” from their upcoming second studio album 'PUREFLOW' pt. 1, set to release on May 22 at 1 PM KST.

It really is time to celebrate. With the K-pop group having recently celebrated their four-year anniversary, they continue to move forward with a sense of confidence that feels earned. The song’s music video leans into a playful yet symbolic narrative. The members follow and break into the home of a Frankenstein-inspired creature, inviting him to step out and join them. At the start, he struggles with accepting himself, removing a mask and hesitating before they arrive. Their presence and support shift the mood, turning hesitation into release.

LE SSERAFIM have always centered their music around self-empowerment. While their debut track “FEARLESS” introduced the idea of confidence without fear, “CELEBRATION” builds off of that. As the song puts it, “Congrats to the new me who took on uncertainty.” By the end, the creature blends in with the group and other people embracing himself as they all dance together. It’s less about pretending to be fearless and more about accepting who you are, flaws included.

With their summer comeback approaching, this feels like the perfect time to revisit a few tracks that don’t always make it into mainstream conversations but stay with you in quieter ways and deserve more love.

1. “The Great Mermaid” (FEARLESS, 2022)

From their debut era, “The Great Mermaid” reimagines Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid with a completely different perspective. Instead of sacrifice, it’s about refusal. Lines like “I don't give a shit! No love, no golden prince” and “I don't need such twisted love, love story, yo” reject the idea of changing yourself for someone else. It turns the narrative on its head—the mermaid keeps her voice instead of giving it away.

Closing out the ANTIFRAGILE EP, this track feels soft, honest and comforting. It opens with “I just wanna love myself, even in my weakness,” setting the tone right away. The message is simple but stays with you. Making mistakes is part of the process, and even on days when everything feels off, there are still good parts worth holding onto. It’s the kind of song you return to when things feel a little too heavy.

Co-written by all the members and co-produced by YUNJIN, this track is a quiet tribute to their fans. It carries a sense of vulnerability that feels personal. “Honestly speaking, I'm not that strong, I just want you to know” leads into the line “In truth, she's not all fearless, but you, you help her fear less.”

There’s a certain warmth in how they describe that connection. “You light up my life, flowers bloom in our story that no one knows” captures the kind of bond that exists beyond what’s visible. It’s a gentle reminder that beyond their life as K-pop idols, they are still just people finding their way.

4. “We got so much” (EASY, 2024)

“We got so much” leans into gratitude, both for their fans and for each other. Co-written by YUNJIN and EUNCHAE, the song reflects on the journey they are still on. “We got so much love, we don't want to receive it as a given, we're special” carries a quiet sincerity.

YUNJIN’s line, “We'll have many, many days to move forward together, they won't always be good, but I know we'll get through,” adds a sense of reassurance. It acknowledges that not everything will be perfect, but there’s comfort in knowing they’re not alone in it.

5. “Ash” (HOT, 2025)

The track revolves around growth through pain and the idea of starting again, like a phoenix. “The more it hurts, the more alive I am” and “A new born in ashes, nothing lasts forever, baby” capture that sense of transformation.

There’s something powerful in how it embraces discomfort instead of running from it. Lines like “This darkness creates you” and “Even I burn again, I burn it more” reflect a mindset that sees struggle as part of becoming stronger.

'PUREFLOW' pt. 1 is set to bring ten new tracks alongside the pre-release single “CELEBRATION.” Until then, these songs offer a glimpse into the many layers of LE SSERAFIM that are not widely known.
