Korean rock band Rolling Quartz brought an unforgettable and impressive night of music to a packed house at The Nile Theatre in Mesa, Arizona on their Stand Up! U.S. & Canada Tour presented by Leo Presents. Many fans eagerly waited and braved the hot Arizona heat to see the musicians take the stage.

The Rolling Quartz quintet consists of the members YeongEun (drums), HyunJung (guitar), JaYoung (vocals), Iree (guitar) and Arem (bass). Arizona marks the group’s 29th show on Tour and their first time in the Southwest State. Member JaYoung stated, “It’s our first time in Arizona, and it is so hot,” while waving her hand in an effort to fan herself which got members HyunJung, Arem and the crowd giggling.

To begin the highly anticipated show, guitarist HyunJung began a solo of the “Star Spangled Banner” —the United States National Anthem—which had the crowd singing along loudly, shocking the girls on stage. Each member followed in suit with their own instrumental solos as an introduction of themselves.

As the night progressed, Rolling Quartz performed a mix of tracks from their Fighting EP along with fan favorites from other EP and album releases including “Blaze,” “Re:Bold” and “Azalea.”

Transporting us back in time to the fall of 2019, Rolling Quartz covered the electropop song “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga and showered us with a wave of nostalgia, having us jump back to our youth. Fans who anticipated the cover were seen jumping up and down in joy, loudly singing along.

From fans screaming in excitement to Rolling Quartz giving us rockstar hair flips and insane vocals during their song “Higher,” the intensity in the room never once died down which goes to show that good music has an everlasting impact on people of all ages. As the night came to a close and Rolling Quartz took their final bows, they thanked their fans for their love and support and promised to come back to Arizona again. As they exited the stage, they left behind an audience buzzing with everlasting smiles and excitement for what’s to come next.

Mesa’s Nile Theatre provided the perfect acoustics for Rolling Quartz’s Stand up! U.S. & Canada Tour with its intimate setting and lively atmosphere. Rolling Quartz is truly a hidden gem in the world of the Korean music scene, and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for them.
