K-pop meets Western pop on Myles Lloyd’s latest single “DMC,” a reimagining of his original track “Drive Me Crazy.” The smash hit blew up in South Korea, hitting over 26 million streams, landing on the country’s Top 200 charts, and even getting a shoutout from the 7-member K-pop boy group, ENHYPEN. After witnessing the meteoric growth and overflowing love from fans, Lloyd was inspired and felt it was only fair to return these adorations.
What makes this remix special is Lloyd’s decision to work alongside some of his favorite artists from the K-pop and C-pop scenes by turning his solo R&B track into a meaningful cross-border collaboration. He brings in JUNNY, the Korean-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer who grew up in Vancouver but moved to Seoul to pursue a music career, and who has also composed and produced for major industry hard-hitters like NCT and EXO.
The remix also features GEMINI, a South Korean R&B rapper and producer known for his smooth, ear candy vocals. He is signed under the highly respected label AT AREA (stylized as @AREA), founded by producer duo GroovyRoom. Last but not least is Chinese-American artist Karencici, who first made waves in the Mando-pop scene and even joined Jackson Wang’s 4-member supergroup, PANTHEPACK.

Getting all these names on one track was an ambitious goal from the start, Lloyd admitted. “Even though it felt like a long shot at first, I knew I had to find a way to make it work,” he shared in a press release, reflecting on how he discovered these artists while revisiting the K-pop playlist he grew up listening to all the time. Without losing the song’s original chaotic and urgently lovesick essence, JUNNY, GEMINI, and Karencici each brought their individual color to the track.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect for fans in North America, because Lloyd was on the road supporting JUNNY on the Canadian leg of his tour right as the new single dropped. The pair came together to perform in Vancouver and Calgary this week, after kicking the tour off in Montreal on February 16.

The release follows Lloyd's latest 13-track album, I’m Still Thinking, and at age 27, he has steadily built a reputation as an artist to watch in the modern R&B scene. He has experimented through projects such as Goodbye (2019), Forever, Yours (2022), and WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? (2024).
Lloyd doesn’t see this collaboration as a one-off, but an open door to more conversations about the natural blending of music genres and scenes without chasing trends. By bringing together voices from Canada, Korea, and Taiwan, the Montreal-based R&B artist is creating something that pushes the boundaries of the standard R&B remix, both emotionally and sonically.
