MONSTA X Captures Young Adulthood with "growing pains"

This week, MONSTA X drops their first release of 2026 with new single, "growing pains." The track teases their third English album, making them the first K-pop group to do so.
The K-pop boy group first debuted in 2015 with the album Trespass. Currently composed of six members—Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M—MONSTA X have delivered different concepts and a variety of genres over the course of their 10-year-long career. MONSTA X's previous English albums, All About Luv (2020) and The Dreaming (2021), debuted on the Billboard 200 at No.5 and No.21, respectively. Both albums highlighted MONSTA X's lyricism and vocal ability, producing tracks that spoke to the heart and the beat.
Their new song, "growing pains," blends guitar and contemporary pop into an uplifting track that screams coming of age. The beautiful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics will give listeners chills as they sing about the awkward stumbling of young adulthood and learning to accept yourself as enough.

The accompanying music video matches the emotional sentiments of the song, as each member records themselves in a vlog style. Sometimes alone and other times together, the members capture different shots of their day: walking along the beach, eating at a cafe, dancing in the recording studio, sitting on a bench, or walking together at night. The brief snapshots evoke the casual, everyday moments that should be savored.
