Jackson Wang Makes His Return to a Sold-Out Kia Forum

After fans persisted since 2023, Jackson Wang kicked off the North American leg of his MAGICMAN 2 World Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles to a sold-out crowd that made clear just how much this moment meant. The night was electric from start to finish, a testament to an artist who has spent years pouring everything into his craft and is now reaping every bit of that reward.

Jackson Wang is a Hong Kong-born, multi-hyphenate artist, and founder of Team Wang Records who first rose to global prominence as a member of the chart-topping K-pop group, GOT7. While his time in the group cemented his name in the industry, his solo journey has been a story entirely his own. From his debut album Mirrors hitting the U.S. Top 40 to MAGIC MAN cracking the Billboard 200 at No. 15, Wang has steadily built a lane that blends atmospheric R&B, pop, and genre-defying production. His latest album, MAGICMAN 2, is his most personal work yet, written during a year of creative reset and emotional reckoning, with fan favorites like "GBAD" and "BUCK" already finding a deep connection with fans worldwide.

Accompanied by a live band, the show opened with a VCR that brought fans behind the scenes and recapped the last few years of Jackson's journey, building anticipation to a fever pitch. Then, in a moment that stopped the room cold, Jackson emerged—floating above the stage, descending like something out of a dream—as he launched into "High Alone," delivering something truly angelic and leaving the entire forum in awe. He wasted no time carrying that momentum forward, following up with "Access" and sending the crowd into a roar of excitement.

One of the early highlights of the night came when Jackson invited fans up onto the stage to join him for his next few songs, a moment that had those chosen feeling on top of the world and everyone else equal parts happy and jealous. He continued with songs like "Not for Me," "Blue," and "Everything," and the emotion he poured into every lyric was palpable. There were no gimmicks, no over-the-top stage tricks, just an artist completely present with his fans, with intent on giving them a space to breathe and feel through his music. Jackson even mentioned this himself while speaking to the crowd, sharing that he wanted the night to be a place where people could step away from the weight of their everyday lives.

He also opened up about how much this tour means to him personally, telling fans that he had "waited too long for this moment." The crowd erupted with an agreeing cheer. He kept the night rolling with the unreleased track, "Long Gone" and "Dopamine," before stepping offstage to let his band and dancers take the spotlight in solo performances that genuinely impressed the room and reminded everyone just how much talent surrounds him on stage every night.

Back in full force, Jackson moved through "BUCK," "Let Loose," "Titanic," and fan favorite "GBAD" before pausing to talk openly with the crowd about how MAGICMAN 2 came to be. He spoke about his growth, as a person and as an artist, and shared that this was the first time he was truly allowing the world to see him as he really is. The vulnerability in the room was unmistakable. Visibly emotional, he told the crowd, "Thank you… I've been waiting for this for too long. Thanks for giving me a chance, guys… thank you." There wasn't a dry eye in the building.

Closing out the main set, Jackson shifted into deeply heartfelt territory. He performed "Dear:," followed by "Sophie Ricky"—a song he wrote and dedicated to his parents—which sent an emotional wave through the entire stadium. The storytelling woven throughout this tour was undeniable: the highs and lows, the failures and successes, all laid bare with a transparency that felt rare and genuinely courageous. He followed with a moving speech, opening up about life, happiness, recovery, and what it means to him to stand in front of an audience night after night. He also hinted at exciting announcements on the horizon for the year ahead, before bringing the main set to a close with "Made Me a Man."

But Jackson Wang wouldn't be Jackson Wang without one more moment. He returned for an encore that felt like a full-on celebration. The energy shifted into pure party mode as he let loose alongside his dancers and friends, laughing and feeding off the crowd's joy. It marked the perfect exclamation point: a man who has fought hard, grown deeply, and arrived at a place where, in his own words, he is "really happy." And watching him in that moment, you believed every word.

From the opening descent to the final encore, the MAGICMAN 2 World Tour proved to be a show unlike any other—equal parts spectacle, therapy, and celebration. If LA was just the beginning, the rest of the world is in for something truly special.
