On February 23, IVE members AN YUJIN, GAEUL, REI, JANG WONYOUNG, LIZ, and LEESEO returned with their second full-length album REVIVE+, arriving more than two years after their first full-length album I’ve IVE. The first album featured 11 tracks, while REVIVE+ expands the experience with 12 songs.

What makes IVE stand out, especially as a leading fourth-generation K-pop girl group not coming from the traditional “Big Four” companies such as YG, JYP, SM Entertainment, and HYBE Labels, is the group’s balance between collective strength and individual charm. Each member brings something distinct, whether it is their vocal ability, confident stage presence, dancing, or personality. That synergy between six individuals continues to shine in the newly released album from Starship Entertainment’s girl group.

The album includes both group tracks and individual songs from the members, offering something for every DIVE (the official fandom name). Whether fans support the group as a whole or have a bias toward a specific member, REVIVE+ ensures that everyone feels included in this comeback. With 12 tracks, including the pre-release single “BANG BANG” and the lead single “BLACKHOLE,” the album feels like a generous offering to fans who have followed IVE’s journey closely.

Another aspect that stands out is IVE’s consistency. Since their debut in December 2021, the group has maintained a steady flow of music releases. Leading up to REVIVE+, IVE continued releasing new music and visual content, including IVE SWITCH, IVE EMPATHY, and IVE Secret, which arrived in August 2025 with the lead single “XOXZ.” This consistent output shows the group’s determination to keep evolving while staying connected with their audience.

Their dedication to growth was also reflected in something leader AN YUJIN shared during her appearance on the talk show LeeMujin Service. She expressed the group’s hope that IVE will become a team that listeners can always rely on. She also acknowledged that with every album, the members try something new, even though they sometimes wonder how the public will receive those changes. Her words reflected both confidence and vulnerability as she hoped fans would accept their music as it is. IVE strives to continue evolving and exploring new sounds.

With that perspective in mind, REVIVE+ feels like an album that lays the foundation for the direction IVE may take in the future. It almost feels like the group is asking DIVE’s to keep trusting them as they experiment with different sounds and concepts.

Before diving into the music itself, it is worth mentioning the album's promotional campaign. “THE NARCISSISTIC GURLS CAMPAIGN” particularly stood out. It felt relatable, as memes often do, while still carrying IVE’s signature charm. Watching the members embrace playful confidence while showcasing their personalities added another layer to the album’s concept.

Here's a look at WONYOUNG and GAEUL’s version of the campaign:

The album’s pre-release single, “BANG BANG,” accompanied by a music video, carries a bold message about moving forward without worrying about outside opinions. When JANG WONYOUNG sings, “Who cares what others think, I don't give a shh what you say?,” the song captures the group’s fearless energy.

AN YUJIN reinforces that attitude in her verse, declaring, “I be going out with a bang, shaking my head, this is my way,” making it clear that IVE is choosing confidence over criticism. The track also gains an extra layer of meaning, given that JANG WONYOUNG contributed to the lyrics.

The lead single “BLACKHOLE” feels like a defining moment for this era of IVE. The chorus, delivered by JANG WONYOUNG and REI, carries a sense of determination as they sing about winning in their own way and dreaming even bigger dreams, repeating the line “La, la, la-la, love flame, wi-wi-win it my way.” The song closes with the members declaring that the long wait is over and they are finally moving forward as their true selves.

One moment that stood out was AN YUJIN’s verse: “Keep on running, don't fear the danger, ignite the flame you've kept hidden.” The lines feel like encouragement, not just for the members but also for the fans listening alongside them. The music video is visually striking and noticeably different from some of IVE’s earlier concepts.

Hush” offers a completely different atmosphere. The song feels calm and comforting, almost like a reminder to slow down after a long day. As the members sing lines like “I'm here by your side, stop worrying, close your eyes and feel it,” the track creates a gentle space where the chaos of everyday life fades away. The soft repetition of “Hush, hush” adds to the song’s soothing mood.

Stuck In Your Head,” as the title suggests, plays with the idea of IVE occupying every corner of the listener’s mind. The lyrics even hint at this playful takeover with lines about stealing the password to someone’s heart and reaching the very end of it.

The song suggests that once you start listening to IVE’s music, it becomes difficult to get it out of your head. Among the members, LEESEO’s vocals stand out particularly well in this track.

Fireworks” feels like a song made for the concert stage. While listening to it, it is easy to imagine a stadium filled with a sea of IVE official lightsticks shining in the dark while fireworks light up the sky.

The emotional tone of the track is reflected in lyrics like “You and I were shining in the dark, forever and ever,” which capture the connection between IVE and their fans.

There is also a quiet moment of reflection in the bridge when LIZ sings about wanting time to slow down so the moment can last longer. It feels like a song that celebrates both the group’s journey and the bond they share with their audience.

HOT COFFEE” brings a slightly different energy to the album. It feels like the kind of track that could accompany a busy morning routine or a quick coffee break. The lyrics describe the determination that comes with chasing dreams, comparing it to drinking strong coffee that keeps you awake and motivated even through sleepless nights.

The album also highlights each member's individuality through their solo tracks.

JANG WONYOUNG’s solo song “8” plays with the symbolism of the number itself. The number can resemble the infinity sign when turned sideways, while the pronunciation of “eight” also echoes the phrase “ate,” a slang expression used when someone performs exceptionally well. WONYOUNG even ends the song confidently with the line “I left no crumbs,” reinforcing the self-assured energy that defines the track.

GAEUL’s “Odd” focuses on finding beauty in unexpected places and embracing what makes something different. The performance video adds another layer to the song, highlighting her elegance while reminding listeners of her growth as a performer.

LEESEO’s “Super ICY” exudes a bold, confident energy that suits IVE’s youngest member. The track reflects her playful yet fearless personality as she steps into her own spotlight.

LIZ’s “Unreal” beautifully captures the quality of her vocal tone, which has always felt soft and expressive. The lyrics describe moments of happiness that feel almost too perfect to be real, especially in lines where she sings about a feeling so strong that it keeps her awake and makes the moment feel almost surreal.

REI’s “In Your Heart” creates a cheerful, lighthearted atmosphere that makes the listener smile. The track's playful tone suits her personality well and leaves a warm impression.

Finally, AN YUJIN’s “Force” highlights the strong presence she carries as IVE’s leader. The lyrics describe an irresistible pull, comparing her presence to gravity itself as she sings about being the force that draws people in. As someone who often stands out as an all-rounder performer, this track feels like a natural extension of her stage charisma.

Another interesting detail about REVIVE+ is that most members participated in writing the lyrics to their solo songs. That creative involvement adds another layer of personality to the album and allows each member to express their individuality more directly.

The album’s impact has also been reflected in its performance on music charts and television music shows. During the promotional period, IVE secured eight music show trophies in total, with “BANG BANG” earning seven wins and “BLACKHOLE” taking one. The pre-release track “BANG BANG” also achieved a Perfect All-Kill on Korean music charts, becoming the first song released in 2026 to reach the milestone and marking the group’s sixth PAK overall.

Having listened to IVE’s music over the years, REVIVE+ feels like the beginning of a new chapter for the group. The album features six artists who continue to grow together as they prepare to explore greater possibilities in the future.
