Houston Hip-hop Artist OQ Weaves Self-expression with Lyrical Flow in Brooklyn’s Art Fest

Through a relationship with Mike Knight and the Underground Advocacies, who were on tour, he was introduced to the city. OQ jumped at the chance to play in Brooklyn, his first trip to the famous city, and made performing in the birthplace of hip-hop a dream come true.

At the BK Art Fest, OQ delivered an electrifying performance that highlighted tracks from his recent album QSA, Vol. 1, along with his standout single “Highly Favored.” The set showcased the diverse styles and expansive storytelling featured in the album, with “Highly Favored” serving as a key moment that resonated emotionally with the audience. For OQ, music is more than just a job—it’s an essential means of self-expression.
